County police log

o Police received a call around 1 a.m. Wednesday about a suspicious male who seemed intoxicated in the area of Elyria and River streets.
When police arrived, they saw Dewain Carter, 41, of West Salem, fall on the ground and roll near oncoming traffic. The officer helped him up.
Carter was charged with disorderly intoxication.

Auditor’s office to assist seniors with tax break

Joyce M. (nee Johnson) Thorne, 72, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Life Care Center of Medina in Liverpool Township.
She resided in Hinckley Township for 40 years. In her spare time, Mrs. Thorne enjoyed her hobbies of crocheting, bowling and reading. Her family and friends will miss and cherish the times they shared.

Most plead guilty to animal cruelty in York cockfight raid

MEDINA — Most of the defendants arrested in a cockfighting raid in February have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of animal fighting, with some also pleading to animal cruelty charges.
