Willette Price Chandler

Willette “Willy” Price Chandler, 87, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Hospice at The Inn at Medina.

Brunswick details need for income tax hike

BRUNSWICK — The city is asking voters to increase the income tax from 1.35 to 2.155 percent to support the police and fire departments and for road improvements.
The tax is estimated to bring in $7.4 million after a full year of collection, city Finance Director Bill White said.

Fire in diner’s attic can’t stop breakfast

BRUNSWICK — There was a fire in the attic of the 303 Diner late Wednesday night, but it didn’t stop the restaurant from opening at 6 a.m. Thursday for the breakfast crowd.

Joanne C. Jensik

Joanne C. Jensik, 71, of Brunswick, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, in Medina.
She was born Nov. 21, 1935, in Granger Township. Mrs. Jensik was a bank manager for Old Phoenix National Bank for 38 years. She enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales and especially her children and grandchildren.

Hinckley Township
- A juvenile walking in the 700 block of Bellus Road was picked up around 8:30 p.m. Monday. The juvenile, who was listed as a runaway from Cleveland, told police he was walking from Cleveland to Marengo, north of Columbus.
The boy’s mother later picked him up at the Hinckley police station.
