Cloverleaf going on March 4 ballot with 5.7-mill levy

WESTFIELD TWP. — The Cloverleaf school board voted Tuesday to place a 5.7-mill, five-year emergency renewal levy on the March 4 ballot.
The property tax levy would raise $2.84 million a year, or about 11 percent of the district’s budget, Superintendent Bruce Hulme said Wednesday. Collection would not begin until January 2009.

Hornets feel better after stopping skid

GRANGER TWP. — Winning cures everything.
A victory was just what the doctor ordered Wednesday night for Highland’s girls basketball team.
The Hornets snapped an eight-game losing streak by beating Barberton 53-36 in Suburban League play.
With the victory, Highland (2-8, 1-6) recorded its first win since Nov. 23 when it beat Cleveland Heights Beaumont 57-30.
