Rookie linebacker has surgery

CLEVELAND — Beau Bell won’t be ringing anyone’s bell anytime soon.
The hard-hitting rookie linebacker underwent knee surgery Thursday to remove loose cartilage from behind his right kneecap, the Browns announced. The team didn’t give a timetable for his return, but he is expected to miss at least the entire preseason.

Pa. firm to build county’s fiber-optic loop

MEDINA — The Medina County Port Authority voted unanimously at its meeting Wednesday to contract with Pennsylvania-based Sunesys to build an 88-mile, 96-strand fiber-optic loop around the county.
