Thomas Powalie, 80, of Seville, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Meadowview Care Center.
He was born in Fredrickstown, Pa., and was a Medina County resident for 60 years. Mr. Powalie retired from Packaging Corp. in Rittman. He enjoyed his garden and yard work and working on cars. He was an avid football and baseball fan. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Powalie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen of Seville; sons, Thomas (Barbara) of Brunswick and Tim (Jan) of Lodi; grandchildren, Julie, Nate, Brooks and Graham; sisters, Elizabeth Meserko of Seville and Margie Huenefeld of Bethel Park, Pa.; brother, Tony of Manahawkin, N.J.; and half sister, Helen Hanna.
He was preceded in death by his half brothers and half sisters, Wilma McCreight, August, Mary Powalie and Frank Powalie.
Service: 11:30 a.m. Friday at Armstrong-Waite Funeral Home, 25 Pleasant St. (state Route 3), Seville.
Burial: Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
Visiting hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
