YORK TWP. — Buckeye’s boys soccer team wasted no time Saturday putting its offense skills on display in a Patriot Athletic Conference contest with Brookside.
The Bucks peppered the net with ball after ball in a 13-0 rout of the Cardinals in Stars Division play.
Forwards Mike Kelly and Mitch Derksen both recorded hat tricks as Buckeye (3-1, 1-0) blasted 31 shots on goal.
Dave Normant also recorded a pair of goals in the win, while Jesse Gentile, Doug Dickson, Shawn Goellner, Brandon Patera and J.J. Robb all had one.
Scott Felgar notched his third shutout of the season — this one without facing a single shot on goal.
Buckeye’s junior varsity team rallied from a one-goal deficit to beat Hearts for Jesus 2-1.

MEDINA — The Bees (3-0-1) had six players score goals in this non-league win over the Golden Eagles: Nate Vidika, Carlin Vandendriessche, Josh Price, Derek Ziolkowski, Randy Brown and Jordan Clark. Matt Walton recorded a pair of saves to give him three shutouts on the young season. Medina’s JV squad won 4-0.

LAKEWOOD — Coach Scott Simpson’s Bees opened the Northeast Ohio Conference schedule with a bang in this victory over the Rangers. Jill Graff found the back of the net twice for Medina (4-0, 1-0) while Becca Candler, Melissa Hill, Stephanie Bowman, Rachel Luebke, Lauren Burke, Sarah Flanders and Hannah Johnson also scored. Katie Woodling and Katie Suukbauer combined for the shutout. The JV Bees won 8-0 behind a pair of goals from Kelly Moeller and Kayla Maiorana.
Buckeye 6, Wooster Triway 1
SHREVE —Kelsey Knoll, Alaina Geisen and Katherine Turner each scored twice to lift the Bucks (3-0) to this non-conference win. Rookie goalie Kristen Hare had one save. Buckeye’s JV team won its bout 3-0.
Cloverleaf 6, Akron Firestone 1
WESTFIELD TWP. — Senior forward Heidi Santelmann scored three times as the Colts (3-1) rolled this non-league win. Katie Roberts, Rachel Gokey and Kelli Slavens also scored for the winners, who outshot the Falcons 11-0. The JV Colts also picked up a win, 3-0.
