Russell W. Boughter, 68, of Medina, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at Akron General Medical Center.
He was born June 30, 1939, in Lebanon, Pa., to Samuel and Mary Boughter. He resided in Medina County for the past 35 years. Russell was a retired welder from General Motors, Elyria. He was a past vice president of the Hinckley Chamber of Commerce and was very involved with the annual Buzzard Days. He loved the outdoors, animals, gardening and hunting. He served in the Marine Corps from 1956-58.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Phyllis; sons, Kevin W. (Joyce) of Cleveland, Russell â€œBrianâ€ (Sherrie) of Medina; grandchildren, Lindsey, Sydney, Justin and Andrew; devoted companions, Ginger, Malley and Jetson (all rescued dogs); many brothers and sisters, all of Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Chmura and Dianne (Timothy) Sepik, both of Parma; brother-in-law, Robert (Anne Marie) Evancho of Parma; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Committal service: Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman. Date and time will be announced.
At Russellâ€™s request, cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
