Barbara J. Rowe

Barbara J. Rowe, 64, of Wooster, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007.

She was born Aug. 2, 1943, in Wadsworth to Joseph B. and Bertha M. O’Higgins. Mrs. Rowe was retired from the Ford Motor Co. after 10 years of service. As a young child, Barbara (also known as Bobbie) peddled vegetables and fruits around town to help the family. She also peddled those juicy, big, tasteful strawberries that her dad was known for growing. Mrs. Rowe devoted most of her life to her marriage, dollies and to raising her six children. She loved to crochet and play bingo, poker and euchre. She enjoyed spending time with her husband at the tracks watching the dogs race. Her last wishes were for her family to stay together and not to become estranged. She would also like them to carry on making her special recipes which she enjoyed cooking for them.

The brothers and sisters would like to thank all of Barbara’s loving caregivers for the outstanding care they gave their mother while she was ill.

Mrs. Rowe is survived by her sisters, Vivian Hughes, Beverly Killinger and Janice Wellman; children, LaVonda M. Belviso of Norton, Edward A. (Tawnya) Rowe of Wooster, Tammie Touchstone of Wooster, Donnie S. (Christina) Rowe of Wadsworth, Richard A. Rowe of Wadsworth and Carmen (Kurt) Posey of Wooster; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one granddog. We love you, Mommy, and you will always be in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Edward A. Rowe; and siblings, Donald, Leo, Keith and Lavonne O’Higgins and Beatrice Mooney.

Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. The Revs. Robert Webb and Tom Geissinger will officiate.

Interment: Rittman Cemetery.

Visiting hours: 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made to Hospice of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster, 44691, in memory of their beloved mother, Barbara J. Rowe.
