- The Southwest Enforcement Bureau bomb squad was called Tuesday after a grenade and Claymore mine were found in a box at VFW Post 9520, 1439 S. Carpenter Road, around 10:45 a.m.

A post member found the explosives while cleaning weapons for an upcoming event. The man who found the explosives said the box containing them had been on a shelf for 30 years, and he wasn’t sure where they came from.

The Southwest squad removed the items from the post.

- Someone reportedly stole an iPod and a wallet containing cash and keys from a purse at Brunswick High School, 3581 Center Road, sometime before 9:15 a.m. Tuesday. The purse was stored in a gym locker.

Compiled from police reports.
