Brunswick Hills Township
– Catalytic converters worth a total of $1,000 were reported stolen from two trucks belonging to U-Haul, 314 Pearl Road, on Oct. 22 or 23.

– An unlocked Toyota Camry parked in the 400 block of Brambleside Drive was vandalized between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Someone removed a CD player worth $75 and tore off the top of the center console. Several other vehicles in the area also were vandalized recently, an officer noted.

– Someone removed $10 cash and discharged a fire extinguisher inside an unlocked Jeep Cherokee parked in the 5100 block of Stonehurst Drive between midnight and 8 a.m. Oct. 28.

Township police ask that residents keep vehicles locked when parked outside to help prevent thefts and vandalism.

Lodi
– On Monday, a man was spotted taking the aluminum siding off a vacant house in the 100 block of Howe Street at 8:49 a.m. Officers approached him and he said he was told the house was going to be torn down and he saw others taking things from it. The suspect said he wanted to exchange the siding for gas money. Charges have not been filed.

– At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, a resident of the 220 block of Mill Street came home to find that a purse containing $515 she had left above her filing cabinet was taken. She said she collected the money from a fellow tenant as rent to be given to her landlord.

– An employee at Family Dollar on Wooster Street reported at 8:15 a.m. Sunday that someone broke into the business the previous evening. The burglar entered through the rear door and removed the business’ safe. Two hammers were found where the safe had been.

Someone reportedly broke into a house in the 410 block of Medina Street between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 3 a.m. Thursday and stole a jar of pennies.

Medina Township
– At 9:29 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to an alarm at Medina Antique Mall, 2797 Medina Road, and found a broken window. Jewelry cases were broken into and jewelry items valued at about $20,000 were stolen.

– A 17-year-old Rittman male was stopped for an equipment violation, and allegedly was driving under suspension and had an active warrant from Wayne County. Two grams of cocaine reportedly were found in the vehicle. The teen was taken to the Medina County Juvenile Detention Center and felony charges are pending investigation.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, it was reported $139.06 in merchandise was stolen from Wal-Mart, 4141 Pearl Road.
