Browns in comfort zone
November 26th, 2007 · No Comments
CLEVELAND — The Browns didn’t need overtime. They didn’t need a ricochet field goal. Their fans didn’t need Maalox.
The Browns picked up an ordinary win Sunday — 27-17 over the Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns Stadium — and that’s what’s remarkable. After their last three games came down to field goals in the final seconds, [...]

Milking wins for all they are worth
November 26th, 2007 · No Comments
Losing exacts a heavy toll on a football team and on a football-crazy city. Apparently, it also leads to problems in the dairy aisle.
“When I’d go to buy groceries and we weren’t winning, I’d hear about it,†Browns wide receiver Joe Jurevicius said. “People would tell me things like, ‘The milk is over there,’ just [...]

Starting position is costly
November 26th, 2007 · No Comments
PARMA — Although Brunswick’s football team put up 14 points against Mentor in the Division I state semifinals Saturday at Parma’s Byers Field, they had to work for every point.
After all, it’s hard to score when the end zone is consistently 80 yards away.
Cardinals kicker/punter Kevin Harper made sure to pin the Blue Devils in [...]

PARMA — The highly-anticipated quarterback duel between Brunswick’s Sean Bedevelsky and Mentor’s Bart Tanski lived up to the billing Saturday in the Division I state semifinals at Parma’s Byers Field.
Then came the second half.
The two seniors went toe-to-toe until Tanski made more plays than his counterpart to lead the Cardinals to a convincing 39-14 victory.

November 26th, 2007 · No Comments
PARMA — Much like their Brunswick football team, Sean Bedevelsky and Jordan Gribble missed it by that much.
Coming into Saturday’s 39-14 Division I state semifinal loss, the duo was on pace to break some more Medina County records only to see them slip through their hands.
Bedevelsky needed 292 passing yards to top the output of [...]
