Mary L. Houston, 82, of Lodi, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at Meadowview Care Center in Seville.
She was born July 22, 1925, in Alliance to Alfred and Anna Zurburgg Krahling. She married Duane Houston on April 3, 1954, and resided in Lodi most of her life. She was a registered nurse and the director of nursing at Lodi Community Hospital, where she was employed for 30 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Lodi United Methodist Church and the Lodi chapter of Order of the Eastern Star 137.
She is survived by her sons, David (Deborah) Houston of Bluffton, Ohio, Jeff (Patti) Houston of Wadsworth and Bruce Houston of Lodi; grandchildren, Chris, Becky, Marsha and Dan; sisters, Esther Coy, Evelyn and Marcine Schmid, Ruth Dalessandro and Carol Hickman; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, Mia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane, in 1999; granddaughter, Julie Houston; siblings, Kathryn Ball, Edna Beckett, and Donald, John and Alfred Jr. Krahling; and brother and sister-in-law, Don and Jean Houston.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lodi United Methodist Church, 320 Medina St. The Rev. David Howell, of Lodi, will officiate.
Final resting place: Woodlawn Cemetery, Lodi.
There will be no visiting hours.
