Eugene Menke

Eugene “Gene” Menke, 84, of Hinckley Township, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008.

He was born July 12, 1923, in Pittsburgh and resided in Hinckley for the last 53 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Mr. Menke is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary A. Menke; daughter, Kim (Ed) Krajewski of North Olmsted; son, Jay (Daean) of Middletown, Md.; grandchildren, Eric (Danielle) Krajewski of Boulder, Colo., Devon (Henrique) Dunson of Cleveland and Emily Ann, Amanda, Claire and Alex Menke, all of Middletown; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Andrew Krajewski of Colorado and one great-grandchild coming soon; and brother, Bernard of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and William, and sister, Marie Warlack.

Service: 9:30 a.m. Monday at Brunswick United Methodist Church, 1395 Pearl Road (corner of state Route 303 and U.S. Route 42). The Rev. John Butchko will officiate.

Veteran burial: Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.

Visiting hours: 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Brunswick Chapel, 3300 Center Road (state Route 303 at Interstate 71).
