Gymnastics notes: Colts end with perfect record

WESTFIELD TWP. — The Colts (135.4) ended the regular season Wednesday with a perfect record as they picked up non-league wins over Buckeye (124.4), Brunswick (111.5), Grafton Midview (104) and Columbia (50.6).

“The girls were pretty excited,” Cloverleaf coach Wendy Armstrong said. “We are just trying to take it one meet at a time. We set goals along the way each week. … There is going to be some tough competition (at sectionals) and our next goal is to get the whole team to districts.”

Bridget Razem led the Colts (20-0, 11-0) grabbing victories in bars (9.0), floor (9.25) and all-around (35.55), taking second in vault (8.8) and tying for second in  beam (8.5).

Alyssa Armstrong added crucial points for Cloverleaf with a first in beam (8.9), second in bars (8.7), tying for third in floor (8.75) and in the all-around (34.45).

Jen Foster added third-place points (8.4) in vault for the Colts.

The Bucks posted their highest score thus far. Erin Jesse tied for third in floor with a 8.75.
