Louis A. Briggs, 84, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.
He was born April 16, 1923, in Sharon Center to Ward and Juva Bell Briggs. Mr. Briggs was a graduate of Sharon Center High School and was a former Lodi resident, residing in Coshocton County for the past 13 years. He spent most of his life involved in animal husbandry, first on the farm at Sharon Center, then in Pennsylvania and finally, for years taking care of the bulls at NOBA Inc. in Tiffin. He was a longtime 4-H adviser and former member of the Lodi Ruritans.
Mr. Briggs is survived by his wife, Joanna (nee Grim); son, John (Lisa) of Columbus; and granddaughters, Julie McComas and Danielle (Tim) Dennis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gordon, Warren, Thomas, Willis, Ivan and Robert Briggs.
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi. The Rev. David Howell of Chatham Community Church will officiate.
Burial: Chatham Cemetery.
Visiting hours: noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
