George A. Ling, 68, of Seville, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008, in Medina.
He was born Sept. 25, 1939, in Johnstown, Pa. Mr. Ling retired as a machine operator for Hy-Level Screw with more than 25 years of service. He was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, and a past Medina Pee-Wee football coach and Medina Youth League umpire. The family would like to thank the staff at The Inn at Medina for the compassionate care given to them.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, LaVerne (nee Sladki) Ling; dear sons, Barry, David and Robert (Tami) Ling; grandchildren, Brandon and Rachel Ling; brother, Charles (Patricia) Ling; sister, Sharon Mack; sister-in-law, Rosemary Ling; and nephew, Rick (Yvonne) Ling III.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard S. and Ethel Ling; brothers, Richard Jr. and John; and sister, Betty.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 400 N. Broadway, Medina. The Revs. Thomas Schwartz and David Anderson will officiate.
Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery, Medina.
Visiting hours: 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St., and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
