Donald E. Eaken, 53, of Lodi, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2008, at his home following a short illness.
He was born Nov. 22, 1954, in Medina to Dale and Doris Bensinger Eaken and grew up in Spencer attending Black River schools. Mr. Eaken was the utilities superintendent for the village of Lodi and also worked for Nickles Bakery in Wooster. He was most recently self-employed as operator of Deck Rescue Restoration and Power Washing. He had many hobbies, including bowling, motorcycling, fishing, golfing, boating, car racing, woodworking, model trains and working on and around his home. He also enjoyed his time with his coffee group at Hooverâ€™s Place in Lodi.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (nee Schram), whom he married May 4, 1974, at the Harrisville Grange; daughter, Jessica (David) Hydock of Litchfield Township; son, Dale of Wadsworth; sisters, Debbie (Tom) Dria of Wooster and Darlene (Frank) Waddle of Lodi; and brother, Dan (Linda) Eaken of Lodi.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi. Pastor Reid Firestone will officiate.
Burial: Woodlawn Cemetery, Lodi.
Visiting hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
