Hinckley Township

– At 12:35 a.m. Oct. 2, a resident in the 1300 block of Ridge Road reported someone shot his dog in the face.

– Police had to close the 100 block of Center Road for about an hour after a coal truck became stuck in a ditch at 4:19 p.m. Oct. 2. The truck could not make it up a hill, and when the driver backed down, the vehicle became stuck halfway in the ditch and halfway on the north side of the road.

Lodi

– Police responded to an alleged assault in the 100 block of Sunset Drive at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday. A witness reported a woman walked up to a man and slapped him in the face. The witness then alleged the man swung a flashlight he was holding like a bat and hit the woman in the head. The man said he accidentally hit the woman with the flashlight.

Stephen Williams, 42, of 754 W. River Road, Liverpool Township, was charged with assault. The victim was taken to Lodi Community Hospital for treatment.

– A resident in the 100 block of Birch Street reported her work laptop computer was stolen from her vehicle between 4:40 p.m. Oct. 2 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 3.

– Willie Wagner, 44, of 415½ Wooster St., was arrested Sept. 30 on a warrant for robbery out of Westlake.

Medina Township

– A pewter 2002 Yukon, worth $15,000, was stolen from Bill Doraty Kia, 2925 Medina Road, between 9:40 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. Sunday.

– A residence in the 3100 block of Hood Road was toilet-papered with 127 rolls between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Montville Township

– Martin Holter, 35, of Garfield Heights, was caught by security at Buehler’s, 3626 Medina Road, reportedly stealing $264 worth of beef and pork products around 4:15 p.m. Saturday. He was charged with theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. Because of his lengthy criminal record, Holter was arrested and taken to the Medina County Jail. He had not posted his bond of $7,500 as of Thursday afternoon.

– A man came into BP Oil, 2900 Medina Road, at 5:14 p.m. Sept. 29 and reportedly demanded money from the clerk but said he had forgotten his gun. He then paid for fuel but was denied the purchase of alcohol and cigarettes without an ID.

Reginald Burton, 39, of Cleveland, then reportedly went to his car and was looking in his trunk. The clerk got nervous and called police, who spotted Burton shortly thereafter at Sunoco, 2884 Medina Road, and asked him about the incident. Burton said he was joking around with the clerk and didn’t think she took him seriously. He also said he used to live in New York City where robberies were commonplace and people joked about them.

Burton was charged with aggravated menacing, driving under an FRA (financial responsibility) suspension and not having a driver’s license, all first-degree misdemeanors.

– Police spotted a vehicle traveling on the golf course path at Blue Heron Trace and Upland Ridge Drive at 10:48 p.m. Monday. Police stopped the vehicle and asked the driver, David Foster, 18, of 791 Savannah Trail, if they could search his vehicle. Foster consented and a glass smoking pipe with residue in it reportedly was discovered in the driver’s side door pocket. Foster was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
