Betty Heyburn peacefully entered heaven on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, to join her husband of 50 years, Don, and son, Glenn, to live forever with the lord.
Betty was born in Fenie, British Columbia, moved to Scotland and then to Brooklyn, N.Y., at age 5. She attended St. John’s Hospital Nurses School and received her nursing degree. She also earned the Dr. Delatour Memorial Award (surgical award) from St. John’s. She worked as a registered nurse in the operating room in New York and as a supervisor in hospitals in Maine and Marlboro, Mass. She lived a long, blessed life filled with family and friends. Her smile will be with us always as will her heart filled with love for everyone she met along the way. She loved the lord and is with him now rejoicing with the many others who love him too.
She leaves behind her best friend and daughter, Karen Donovan of Medina, and son, David (Patti) Heyburn of Edgewater, Fla. Especially loved by Betty are her grandchildren, Christopher, Brooke and Erin Donovan of Medina, and Emily Heyburn of Saginaw, Mich.; and many relatives and close dear friends.
