Larry E. Lanning, 65, of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, in Middleburg Heights.
He was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Zanesville. Mr. Lanning served in the Ohio National Guard. He was a soccer coach for Brunswick Youth, Brunswick High School girls, specializing in goalies, and the Buckeye High School boys goalie coach. His interests included classic cars and ham radio.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Janet (Snyder) Lanning; sons, Brian (Eileen) of Medina and Mark (fiancée Holly Kerr) of Parma; grandchildren, Davis and Theron; sisters, Mary, Carol and Judy; and brothers, Russ (Clara) and Pete.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Lola, and brother, Teddy.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick. Father Bob Stec will officiate.
Burial: Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick.
Visiting hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Brunswick Chapel, 3300 Center Road (state Route 303 at Interstate 71).
