- Between 5 and 10 p.m. Nov. 7, someone broke into a house in the 4000 block of Cherokee Trail. The burglar entered through a sliding-glass door and stole numerous pieces of jewelry and $800. The house was ransacked, but neither of the homeowner’s children’s rooms was touched.

- A Miller Drive resident reported at 4:30 p.m. Monday she received a $3,800 fraudulent check for racing tires she was trying to sell on Craigslist.com valued at $700. The check was from Shreveport, La. The woman never sent the tires.
While filling out her police report, a Clearbrook Drive resident came to the police station with a nearly identical complaint. She was trying to sell a coffee table on Craigslist and she also received a fraudulent check from Shreveport for $3,875.
The postmarks on the checks were different: The check for the tires came from Wichita, Kan., and the check for the table came from Miami.
Police contacted the Shreveport police department and found it had received a rash of calls about similar incidents.

- Crestmont Ford, 3101 Center Road, reported that between 6 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday someone stole the tires off a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The tires were valued at $500 each.

- Police responded to Skully Jax, 4280 Shenandoah Parkway, about a bar fight at 1:47 a.m. Sunday. A man claimed he was assaulted by Caleb Klinksiek, 21, of 3492 Sturbridge Lane. The man and witnesses claimed Klinksiek dragged him to the parking lot, where Klinksiek’s father and uncle reportedly held back a worker who was taking out the trash from defending the man while Klinksiek allegedly assaulted him. The three then left. Klinksiek was charged with assault.
On Saturday, the assaulted man filed a police report accusing Klinksiek of stealing his iPod.

Compiled from police reports.
