Lucas E. Ramsdell, 35, of Medina, passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, in Medina.
He was born Dec. 13, 1972, in Medina and attended Cloverleaf and Medina schools. Mr. Ramsdell worked in construction and was a commercial diver. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially the woods. He enjoyed writing, journaling many of his thoughts and feelings. He loved music and playing his guitar. Mr. Ramsdell also enjoyed reading books about philosophy and matters of faith and recovery. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his sons, Jake and Aidan.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all his friends in AA who gave him so much over the years.
Mr. Ramsdell is survived by his mother and stepfather, Debbie (nee Coleman) and Don Bican of Chippewa Lake; sons, Jacob Ramsdell of Chippewa Lake and Aidan Polansky of Medina; Rachel Ramsdell, former wife and mother of son, Jacob, of Chippewa Lake; special friend, Krystal Polansky, mother of Aidan, of Medina; stepbrother, Adam Bican of Rochester, Mich.; maternal grandparents, Marilyn and Ansel Coleman of Wooster; and many aunts, especially Aunt Jane with whom he had a special relationship, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Ramsdell, and paternal grandparents, Olive and Joseph Ramsdell.
Service: 7 p.m. today at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. Pastor Ivanildo Trindade will officiate.
Burial: Northwest Lafayette Cemetery.
Visiting hours: 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
