Judy A. Willbond

Judy A. (nee Halada) Willbond, 65, went home to be with the lord on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, after a seven-year battle with cancer.

She was born in Lodi on Sept. 17, 1943, to John and Ethylen Halada. She was a 1961 graduate of Buckeye High School and a lifelong Wellington-area resident. Judy worked at Rockwell International. She was a retired bookkeeper for Barnes & Noble at Oberlin College, formerly known as the Co-op Bookstore. Judy was a member of Brighton United Methodist Church, the Eagles and a life member of the Wellington VFW. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, camping at Clare-Mar in the summer and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife and friend and an exceptional mother and grandmother, who will be deeply missed by one and all.

Judy leaves behind her husband of 25 years, John Willbond; children, John Parris Willbond of Germany, Debora Gardner of Wellington, Laura Rudolph of Wellington, Matthew Willbond of Oberlin, Samantha Kirby, Kenneth Willbond of Wellington and Luke Willbond of Fayetteville, N.C.; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; mother, Ethylen Waggaman; brother, Johnny Halada; sisters, Nancy Harvey and Jeanne; sister-in-law, Lillian Clark; aunt, Hilda Carey; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Halada; stepfather, Virgil Waggaman; grandsons, Joseph Michael Gardner and Jydan Vandezande; and several aunts and uncles.

Service: 1:30 p.m. today at Brighton United Methodist Church, 51011 State Route 18, Brighton. Pastor Christine Bell will officiate.

Burial: Brighton Township Cemetery.

Visiting hours: 11 a.m. until the time of the service today at the church.
