Sidney G. Croucher

Sidney George Croucher has passed away.

He was born June 8, 1916, in Sittingbourne, England, to Edward George Croucher and Mabel (Wilson) Croucher. He became a U.S. citizen on July 19, 1956. Mr. Croucher worked for the U.S. government as an auditor and accountant. He was a member of VFW Post 5572 in Allen Park, Mich. He belonged to the Lutheran Church and loved the lord. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and re-enlisted, doing several secret missions for the U.S. He was decorated with the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Silver and one Bronze Battle Star, one Service Stripe, three Overseas Service Bars and Good Conduct. Sid, as he was generally called, was an avid book reader, hockey fan and dedicated church member. He loved traveling with his wife and watching baseball games.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Willabell (Gray) Croucher; brother, Gordon Croucher of British Columbia, Canada; and niece, Judie Bouchard of Canada.

Service: 11 a.m. Friday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. The Rev. James Patterson will officiate.

Burial: Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.

Visiting hours: 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
