Cold weather ahead

A concrete contractor by trade, Steve Lawrence of Medina gets creative Tuesday morning with the pile of snow he cleared from his Baxter Street driveway. Lawrence grabbed one of his concrete trowels and started to “carve” the pile. By afternoon, he had created a “monster” snowman at least 8 feet tall. “I’ve never done anything like this,” Lawrence said. At least two-thirds of Ohio is under a winter weather advisory as residents brace for more snow, wind and even colder temperatures. The National Weather Service says arctic air will drop temperatures to the teens and single digits the rest of the week. (Shirley Ware | Photo Editor)
