Lewis Rowe Sr., 90, of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at Kingston of Vermilion.
He was born May 5, 1918, in Wayne, W.Va. Mr. Rowe was a millwright for LTV Steel, retiring in the 1970s after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Medina Masonic Lodge, 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He enjoyed woodworking furniture, golf and fishing in Lake Erie and ponds.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Freda (nee Richmond) Rowe of Brunswick; sons, Bill (Linda) Rowe of Vermilion and Paul (Nola) Rowe of Medina; sisters, Josephine Mizer, Bertha Cox, Claira R. Berman and Linda Doud; brothers, Dewey, Ben, Ray, Roush â€œPratorâ€ and Raymond; and grandchildren, Keith, Penney (Curt), Bruce, Debbie (Gary), Heather, Christi, Laura (John), Daniel and James.
He was preceded in death by his son, Lewis Rowe Jr.; parents, Jimison and Virginia (nee Dawson) Rowe; and half brother, Fred Rowe.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (one-half mile south of state Route 303), Brunswick.
Interment: Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick.
