George “Handy” Miner Jr., 79, of Medina, passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, in Medina.
He was born Nov. 16, 1929, in Cleveland. Mr. Miner was a welder at Standard Welding for 25 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 202 and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn (nee Meyers); sons, Jeff (Michele) of Creston and Mark (Lori) of Medina; daughter, Debbie (Brian) Semon of Bath; grandchildren, Jeffy, Sean and Brianna, who will always remember him as G-Pa and Papa, the loving grandpa that attended all of their events; and brother, Tom (Barb) of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Helen Handy.
Service: 4 p.m. Sunday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. Dr. Teresa Dulyea Parker will officiate.
Burial: Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, at a later date.
Visiting hours: 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
