Jordan Elizabeth Cavanaugh, 11, of Medina, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in Cleveland.
She was born March 20, 1997, in Medina. Jordan was a sixth-grader at A.I. Root Middle School, where she sang in the choir and was a student tutor, cheerleader and Girl Scout. She loved to write songs and poems. Jordan also was a member of Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, where she helped with vacation Bible school.
Jordan is survived by her parents, Bob and Dawn Cavanaugh; brothers, Andrew and Jonathan; grandparents, Barb Bielanski and Tom LaFaire; grandmother, Mary Lou Cavanaugh; great-grandma, Max; uncles, Brian (Kate) Cavanaugh, Sean Cavanaugh, Joe (Christina) LaFaire and Brandon LaFaire; aunts, Corinne (Brett) Aebersold, Maureen (Terry) Oblander, Suzanne Cavanaugh, Nichole (Brian) Park, Meagan LaFaire, and aunt and godmother, Michelle (Matt) Schuld; godfather, Steve Spaetzel; and cousins, Hailey, Christian, Brodie, Corey, Brendan, Madison, Kaitlyn, Brenden, Maggie and Sammy.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Cavanaugh.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, 3100 S. Weymouth Road, Medina Township. Father Stephen Dohner will officiate.
Burial: St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Medina.
Visiting hours: 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St., and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
