Mackenzie Leigh Thompson

Mackenzie Leigh Thompson, 17, of Charleston, Tennessee, and formerly from Medina, departed this life Friday, April 24, 2009 at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee with her grandmother, Sarah and her Aunt, Sophie, by her side. She was born December 29, 1991 in Medina County and had lived their all her life.

Mackenzie was a junior at Medina High School and Medina County Career Center, she then transferred to Walker Valley High School in Charleston, Tennessee. She was quiet but very unique in her own way.

Survivors include her mother, Laura Ann Thompson of Medina; father, Roy Tucker of Medina; grandparents, Sarah Phillips Tucker of Charleston, Tennessee with whom she made her home; Sandra and Walter Thompson of Medina; brother, Christopher Thompson of Oxford; and sister, Ariel Bell of Medina; great uncle, Clayborne (Sophia) Phillips of Cleveland, Tennessee; five aunts, Kimberly Thompson of Medina, Sarah (James) Goodman and Ola Phillips of Cleveland, Tennessee, Betty Lynn (Rob) Eason of Medina, and Nancy Phillips of Wooster; three uncles, James (Brenda) Tucker, Charles Tucker and Eric Thompson of Medina; and a host of devoted family and friends.

Along with services and burial in Cleveland, Tennessee there will be a Celebration of Life Service held Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 10 A.M. at Stony Hill Church, 2756 Stony Hill Rd., Medina.
