William R. Marett, 82, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, April 29 at his home. He was born February 22, 1927 in Fitchville, and has lived in the Norwalk area most of his life.
He was a 1945 graduate of New London High School and the Bowling Green State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He retired from the Huron County Highway Department in 1992. He was an avid bowler and baseball player, he collected coins and boating as well.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan (Bachelder); son Richard Marett of Norwalk; daughter, Barbara Hanshue and her fiance, Raymond Reams of Medina; brother, Gordon (Carol) Marett of New London; grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Billy, Brent and Megan; great-grandchildren, Austin and Abigail; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Christine (Hunter) Marett; and brother, Arden Marett.
Friends may call Friday, May 1, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman, where services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at the Wakeman Cemetery. Pastor Adrian Doll will officiate.
