CLEVELAND—A Medina County assistant public defender was arrested on a federal child pornography charge after he allegedly sent more than 200 images and videos to an undercover FBI agent.

Sean O’Toole, 41, was arrested Friday at his Lakewood residence and is charged with receipt and distribution of child pornography. He had been under investigation since January, when he allegedly sent the photos and videos to an undercover agent in the Innocent Images Unit in Maryland, FBI spokesman Scott Wilson said.

Agents from the Cleveland FBI’s cyber crime squad also participated in the investigation.

O’Toole represented indigent defendants in Medina Municipal Court.

Medina County Public Defender Tim Lutz could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.
