Judges: Drunken driving ruling won’t have big effect in county

The Ohio Supreme Court upheld a law Wednesday that imposes tougher sentences when offenders with prior convictions for operating a vehicle while impaired refuse a blood-alcohol test.

26 charged in drug sting focusing on Brunswick bars

BRUNSWICK — In a “smokescreen” operation, more than 60 agents from the Medway Drug Enforcement Agency and supporting departments arrested 26 people Thursday on drug charges in the Brunswick area.

Hinckley student has case of H1N1

HINCKLEY TWP. — A student at Hinckley Elementary School has contracted the H1N1 virus.
The case was confirmed Wednesday and the child is recovering at home, said Dawn Marzano, spokeswoman for Highland Local Schools.
In a letter sent to parents Thursday, Superintendent Catherine Ackerman said there are no plans to close any schools.
