The Lodi Police Department released surveillance photos today of an ATM robbery attempt at First Merit Bank, 209 Wooster St., on Saturday night.

The suspects shot the ATM with a rifle, causing extensive damage before fleeing down Mill Street. They did not gain entry to the ATM.

Chief Keith Keough said he believes the suspects are either from the area or know someone from the area because witnesses saw them running away on foot.

“None of the witnesses say they heard a vehicle. … we’re looking at all aspects of it, but it looks like the subjects are from the area or know someone from the area,” Keogh said.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call Lodi Police at: (330) 948-2040.
