BRUNSWICK — A Florida man who reportedly drove to Brunswick last week with a plan to kill himself and a former girlfriend was charged with
attempted murder earlier this week.
George Mose, 45, of Bradenton, Fla., is currently in the Medina County Jail on $1 million bond, a spokesman for the Medina County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
Mose had a romantic relationship with a married 39-year-old Brunswick woman but that relationship recently ended, Brunswick police Detective Dean Weinhardt said Thursday. He said Mose told his friends in Florida on several occasions that he wanted to kill the woman.
Weinhardt said Mose’s friends began to worry when Mose took three days off from work and disappeared Nov. 3.
“These folks called our dispatch (on Nov. 4) and articulated the issue and that he might be en route” to Brunswick to kill the woman, Weinhardt said.
Mose was found by Brunswick officers at about 2 a.m. Nov. 5 in the parking lot of Express Inn, 1385 S. Carpenter Road. Weinhardt said Mose did not have any weapons.
Mose was taken to a psychiatric hospital in Mansfield and released Monday morning. Brunswick officers charged him in Mansfield and took him to the Medina County Jail.
He was arraigned Tuesday in Medina Municipal Court. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.
