INDIANAPOLIS — Florida’s Joe Haden and the Browns will be linked until the NFL Draft. Cornerback is among their biggest needs, and he’s an All-American and the consensus best cornerback in the draft.
He says he’ll continue to get better.
“I haven’t nearly reached my peak at all,” he said Sunday at the NFL scouting combine. “I just feel like whatever team I go to, they’re going to get a person they can mold into a way better corner than I was in college.
“I’ve been doing this for three years and I feel like I’m getting pretty good at it. But I want to learn more. You’re getting someone who really wants to learn the game and really wants to be the best they can be at corner.”
Haden was a top recruit out of high school — at quarterback. He converted to cornerback, because Florida had Tim Tebow at quarterback and Percy Harvin at receiver. He became the first Gators freshman cornerback to start the opener and was a three-year starter.
He measured 5-foot-10 1/2, 193 pounds.
