CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers was arrested Thursday afternoon at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, according to multiple reports.
Police told the Plain Dealer’s Web site Rogers had a loaded gun and was trying to board a plane. WOIO.com reported the gun was discovered in a bag.
“We are aware of what transpired with Shaun Rogers,” Browns president Mike Holmgren said in a statement. “We will continue to gather additional information, and until the legal process has taken its course, we will reserve any further comment.”
Rogers lives in Texas and may have been in town participating in the team’s offseason workout program. Rogers, a former Pro Bowler who has been mentioned in trade rumors this offseason, had 4.5 sacks and 76 tackles last season.
