YORK TWP. — A Medina County Career Center student was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon at Columbia and Speith roads.
At about 2:15 p.m., the student was northbound on Columbia and attempted to turn left onto Speith when the Chevrolet Blazer he was driving was hit by a southbound tractor-trailer on the passenger side, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.
It took more than an hour for crews to extricate the student from the SUV.
The student, who was alert and conscious, was transported by Metro Life Flight to Akron General Hospital, the OHP reported.
