GRANGER TWP. — A 25-year-old Ashland man drowned in a pond outside a Stony Hill Road home early Tuesday morning.

Medina County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ken Baca said Justin Scott Maleski was visiting friends and they were “enjoying themselves at the time, swimming in the early morning hours on a hot summer night.”

Maleski was not a strong swimmer and foul play does not appear to be a factor in his death, Baca said.
