MONTVILLE TWP. — A Wadsworth woman injured in a head-on crash over the weekend was listed in good condition today at Cleveland MetroHealth Medial Center.
Molli Kulmala, 26, was transported by emergency helicopter Saturday night to MetroHealth Medical Center. She sustained multiple broken bones and minor head injuries from the crash, according to Trooper Justin Daley, of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Daley reported that Kulmala was driving a Toyota Celica south on Bear Swamp Road, which is north of state Route 57, at 8:24 p.m. Saturday when 21-year-old Kristen Thompson, of Wadsworth, veered into the southbound lane and crashed into Kulmala’s vehicle.
“Basically, she (Thompson) was driving in the wrong lane of travel,” Daley said.
Thompson was driving a Ford Taurus. She was transported to Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital after complaining of having soreness in her arms and legs, Daley said.
A Wadsworth hospital spokeswoman said this morning that Thompson was treated and released Saturday.
The accident investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending after the conclusion of alcohol testing, Daley said.
