Westfield Center man injured in rollover accident

WESTFIELD TWP. — A Westfield Center resident who rolled his minivan Tuesday night on Greenwich Road remained hospitalized at Akron General Hospital this afternoon, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

About 7 p.m., Michael Scheck, 44, was eastbound on Greenwich in a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan when the minivan traveled off the road’s south side just west of Friendsville Road and struck two street signs. Scheck overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to go off the north side of the road, flip over and hit a tree, OHP Sgt. Mark Neff said.

Scheck was taken to Akron General by MedFlight, where he was listed in serious condition today, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Neff said Scheck was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.

No charges have been filed and the cause of the accident is still under investigation, Neff said.
