WASHINGTON – The U.S. House of Representatives approved legislation Wednesday that will rename the Sharon Center Post Office after longtime Sharon Township Trustee Emil Bolas.
House Resolution 4602 now goes to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
Naming the post office after Bolas is a proper way to thank a man who served his community and the country in an honorable way, said U.S. Rep. John Boccieri, D-Alliance, who sponsored the legislation.
“Mr. Bolas’ commitment to leadership and dedication to our community sets an example for all of Sharon Township, Medina County and the state of Ohio,” Boccieri said in a statement this morning.
Bolas served nearly nine consecutive terms, or 35 years, as trustee and 11 years as the Zoning Appeals Board chairman in Sharon Township before his death in 2008.
