CLEVELAND – Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme is inactive for the third straight week as he continues to recover from a high ankle sprain. He was listed as the third quarterback and dressed, which is an improvement over the last two games.
Seneca Wallace will start again.
The Browns (0-3) host the Bengals (2-1) at 1 p.m.
Delhomme returned to practice in a limited capacity Thursday and Friday, but had trouble putting weight on his right foot. He struggled with rollouts and dropbacks. Coach Eric Mangini said he will be the starter when healthy.
The inactive list contained a couple of other minor surprises.
Starting receiver Brian Robiskie is inactive for the second straight week with a hamstring injury. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable.
Running back James Davis is inactive after playing the first three weeks. He was limited early in the week with a thigh injury but was a full participant Friday and listed as probable. Jerome Harrison returned after missing last week with a thigh injury and hobbling during the week.
The other inactives: right tackle John St. Clair (ankle), offensive lineman Shawn Lauvao (ankle), receiver Carlton Mitchell, cornerback Derrick Roberson (hip) and tight end Alex Smith.
Tony Pashos will start for St. Clair.
