SHARON TWP. — Several gunshots were fired about 10:35 a.m. today during an attempted burglary in the 200 block of Medina Road.
A resident returned home today and noticed a television missing and a gun case opened, according to Chief Deputy Ken Baca of the Medina County Sheriff’s Office.
At that time, he turned around and saw a man standing behind him in the house. When the resident ran outside toward a neighbor’s property, the intruder reportedly fired a number of shots at him, Baca said.
The resident was not injured during the encounter, Baca said.
Authorities are searching for a man wearing black clothing who fled the property in a blue or green Buick sedan.
The resident has since reported three or four firearms missing from the house, Baca said.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
