SHARON TWP. — Authorities are still looking for a burglar who shot at a fleeing resident Monday morning.
Several shots reportedly were fired about 10:35 a.m. during a burglary in the 200 block of Medina Road, Chief Deputy Ken Baca of the Medina County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 27-year-old resident arrived home and noticed a television missing and a gun case opened, Baca said.
The resident turned around and saw a man standing behind him in the house. When the resident ran outside toward a neighbor’s property, the intruder reportedly fired a number of shots at him, Baca said.
The resident was not injured during the encounter, Baca said.
The resident declined to comment Monday.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the intruder used a handgun. Several shell casings were found on the front steps outside the residence and just inside the home.
The burglar was wearing black clothing and fled the property in a blue or green Buick sedan.
Authorities with the Sheriff’s Office and police departments in Medina, Medina Township and Montville Township searched for the man throughout the area Monday.
The sheriff’s office said Monday night no one had been apprehended yet.
