Liverpool Twp. man killed in Sunday crash
LIVERPOOL TWP. — A 52-year-old township resident died Sunday after his Ford Ranger pickup went off the left side of Columbia Road and crashed, partially ejecting him from the vehicle and trapping him underneath it, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Sgt. Tina Jackson said Thomas W. Green was driving north in the 300 block of Columbia Road around 2:30 p.m. when he swerved to the right, then overcorrected and went off the road to the left. The vehicle then hit an embankment and turned on its right side.
She said his legs were trapped because the vehicle rolled on to him as he was ejected from the vehicle.
According to a news release from Highway Patrol, Green was not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brunswick Hills Township firefighters were called to the scene. Jackson said the crash is still under investigation.
Green’s wife of 25 years, Jeannette Green, said her husband was “a good man” who enjoyed helping his neighbors by fixing their lawn mowers and other outdoor equipment.
She said he worked at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights for 32 years and was the assistant administrator for Bio Med, which deals with hospital equipment.
Green was also the father of two boys, ages 15 and 17, his wife said, and loved living “out in the open” in Liverpool.
