Woman trapped under RV in 3-way crash ‘doing OK’

LIVERPOOL TWP. — A Chippewa Lake woman whose car was pinned underneath a recreational vehicle after a three-vehicle accident Monday is doing fine, her father said.

Ken Antall said Tuesday his daughter is confused about the specifics of the accident, which occurred about 1 p.m. Monday at state Route 252 and Neff Road, but otherwise appears to be well.

Holly Antall, 35, was treated at Medina Hospital and was released about 6 p.m. Monday, her dad said.

“We are going to have a very grateful Thanksgiving,” Ken Antall said Tuesday. “She is doing OK with some back spasms, bruises and cuts, but apparently no broken bones.”

Antall said a friend of his daughter drove by the accident and thought whoever was inside the car was dead.

“It is a miracle that she survived and more so without serious injury,” he added.

Lt. Josh Swindell, commander of the Medina post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, said a Ford F-150 pickup heading west on Neff Road ran a stop sign and struck the side of a northbound Winnebago, which then slid sideways and hit a Hyundai Elantra driven by Holly Antall who was traveling south on Route 252.

Antall’s vehicle was trapped beneath the RV and she was cut free from her vehicle before being transported to Medina Hospital.

Medina resident Mike Coad, the driver of the RV, was taken to Medina Hospital with minor injuries.

Kathy Coad said at the scene her husband was in good shape, considering the damage to all the vehicles.

Coad, 55, also was treated at the hospital and released, Swindell said Tuesday.

The driver of the F-150, Jeffrey Allamon, also of Chippewa Lake, was flown to Metro-Health Medical Center in Cleveland, Swindell said, adding Allamon was treated and released.

Allamon, 45, was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign, Swindell said.

All three drivers appeared to be wearing seat belts, which limited injuries and likely saved lives, Swindell said.
