LODI — Authorities arrested a former Lodi man this week for his alleged role in separate bank robberies in the village and have identified a woman as a second suspect.

Jess Morgan, 32, formerly of the 9500 block of Lodi Road, was arrested Tuesday in Crossville, Tenn., according to a statement from Lodi Police Chief Keith Keough.

The chief said police learned Morgan has relatives in that area, and he was picked up by Crossville police officers at a local bar Tuesday night without incident.

Separate robberies took place at Wayne Savings Community Bank, 303 Highland Drive, on Monday and FirstMerit Bank, 209 Wooster St., on Jan. 5.

An anonymous caller offered a tip Monday night, which helped to identify Morgan as a suspect after seeing a bank surveillance photo, Keough said.

Morgan will be charged with two felony counts of aggravated robbery, Keough said.

Salena Zak, 29, also a former Lodi resident, is the second suspect. Authorities were still searching for Zak as of this afternoon.

She is believed to be the driver of a vehicle leaving the scene with Morgan after both robberies, the chief said.

“We think she was driving a vehicle in the course of both robberies,” Keough said.

Lodi officers will travel to Crossville this week to bring Morgan back to Medina County for prosecution, Keough said.

Lodi police worked in conjunction with the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and FBI agents during the course of the robbery investigation.
