A 192-foot-long truck carrying a gross weight of 447,000 pounds drove through Medina’s Public Square a little after noon Tuesday, tying up traffic as it moved south on South Court Street (state Route 3).
The truck was traveling from a Chrysler stamping plant in Twinsburg to a plant in Michigan to deliver a metal press.
The height of the load, 15 feet, rendered it too tall for the interstate, a spokesman for the Ohio Department of Transportation said, which meant finding other routes.
The truck turned west onto state Route 162, the ODOT spokesman said, and eventually would head north. On Monday, a truck carrying a similar metal press also came through Medina, he said.
