BEREA — The Browns concluded their draft Saturday night by taking Nebraska safety Eric Hagg with the 248th pick.
Hagg (6-foot-1 1/2, 209 pounds) was an All-Big 12 pick after five interceptions and 49 tackles as a senior. He was named team MVP and won the character award.

NFL Draft: Browns take Stanford fullback Owen Marecic in 4th round

BEREA — The Browns drafted Stanford two-way starter Owen Marecic on Saturday in the fourth round. The pick was No. 124 overall, acquired Thursday in a trade with Atlanta.

BEREA — The Browns opened Day 3 of the NFL Draft by taking USC tight end Jordan Cameron with the No. 102 overall pick Saturday.

Dennis Auerswald is appealing his murder convictions

MEDINA — Dennis Auerswald is appealing his murder and aggravated murder convictions. Auerswald, 60, was convicted last month of poisoning his wife, Maureen, with antifreeze in 2009 and sentenced to life in prison. “He continues to maintain that he is not guilty of the charge of murdering his wife,” his attorney, Joseph Salzgeber, said Friday.
