COLUMBUS — Seven more tornadoes have been confirmed from the storms that ripped through Ohio on Wednesday — bringing the total to 12.
The National Weather Service said today that the additions to the list include a tornado with winds of up to 120 mph that hit near Granville in Licking County. That central Ohio county also was the site another of the newly confirmed tornadoes, while one each struck neighboring Franklin, Fairfield and Pickaway counties.
The weather service said a low-grade tornado that touched down at the Pike County Fairgrounds in southern Ohio destroyed a storage shed and damaged the roof on another building.
Another relatively weak tornado downed trees and tore off roofing in Port Clinton, on Lake Erie in northern Ohio.
